History Will Not Repeat Itself A Note On Endymion's Language (for anyone who is interested and has read the story) by: Shell Presto Short Disclaimer: I don't own Sailor Moon or Endymion. This is my little analysis though, so don't take it. At the start of my story, History Will Not Repeat Itself, I introduced Endymion as having a hard time understanding Japanese. I did not mean for it to seem that he spoke a different language, only an archaeic version of the the modern language. I meant for it to be thought of like the difference between middle and modern English. Namely, the words are more or less the same, but pronounciation is different. On a more understandable note, perhaps you should think of it like the difference between American and European English. Most of the words are the same, but, as a close friend noticed "Jam is jelly and jelly is jello." So there are always slight changes. Endymion is speaking the right language, just the wrong language for the time period. I just thought I'd elaborate on that. I hope you now have a better understanding.
